GARDEN GROVE, CA—Laboratory cancer scientist Diedre Thu-Ha Nguyen, who currently serves as a Garden Grove City Councilmember, today announced receiving the endorsement of the Democratic Women’s Legislative Caucus for her 2020 campaign for State Assembly.
“We support Diedre Nguyen because she’s fearless,” said Assemblymember Monique Limon, Vice-Chair of the caucus. “She is the quintessential immigrant success story who has built a career, a family, and a public service record starting with little other than the support and encouragement of her parents. She will help make California a better place to live.”
Ms. Nguyen was first elected to serve on the Garden Grove City Council in 2016. She was re-elected in 2018 by an even larger margin of victory. By profession, Diedre Thu-Ha works in Molecular Oncology and is a Clinical Cytogeneticist.
Assembly District 72 is located in north central Orange County and includes the cities of Seal Beach, Westminster, Fountain Valley, and Los Alamitos, portions of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, and Santa Ana, and the communities of Rossmoor and Midway City.
