GARDEN GROVE, CA—Cancer scientist Diedre Nguyen, who currently serves as a Garden Grove City Councilmember, reports receiving an endorsement from the International Longshore & Warehouse Union, Southern California District Council, for her campaign in Assembly District 72.
The ILWU has counts over 42,000 members in 60 local unions throughout California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii, and has been in its current constitution since 1937..
Ms. Nguyen was first elected to serve on the Garden Grove City Council in 2016. She was re-elected in 2018 by an even larger margin of victory. By profession, Diedre Thu-Ha works in Molecular Oncology and is a Clinical Cytogeneticist.
Assembly District 72 is located in north central Orange County and includes the cities of Seal Beach, Westminster, Fountain Valley, and Los Alamitos, portions of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, and Santa Ana, and the communities of Rossmoor and Midway City.
